Ming is owner and operator of the Tea House & Gift Shoppe.
The store is located at 396 Penn Avenue in West Reading, Pa., where
she sells fine teas, tisanes, chai, coffee, and unique gift items,
including gift baskets and fine teapots, tea sets, and other
accessories. Ming, who hosts small tea parties by
appointment, at one time owned and operated the Sze Chuan
Restaurant in Cumru Township where she pioneered in the introduction
of authentic Chinese cuisine to the Berks County market. She has also
operated Reading-area outlet stores where she sold
candy and toys. Born Hsu Ming Hsia in Nanking, China, she was raised in Taiwan, and
moved to the U.S. in 1969. |

Ming and Roger

Roger is a licensed minister working as student pastor at Immanuel
United Church of Christ, Shillington, and completing a Master of
Divinity degree at Lancaster
Theological Seminary. Previously, he interned at Bausman Memorial
UCC, Wyomissing. A former newspaper writer and editor, he
also has been a radio newscaster and talk show host. He retired as electronic media manager of
Reading Eagle
Company and is a former president of the
Pennsylvania Universalist Convention, a director of Goodwill Industries,
Keystone Area, and former chair of Goodwill of Mid-Eastern
Pennsylvania. He holds a management degree, summa cum laude, from Alvernia College.
